25 March 2018   Pictures below. A new record set —this week Branch members were at Church from 9:30a until 4:20p (and we from 9a until 5:30p).   Normally the Branch meets 2 hours vs 3 hours (sans Sunday School class...but change is on the horizon—Sunday School books have been ordered and have arrived).  And yesterday, being the 4 th week of the month, the Stake visits and we have an hour-long Self-Reliance class followed by a potluck lunch.  The rest was pure visiting.  We’re just amazed at how they genuinely enjoy the fellowship and love they share with each other. This week’s miracle —3 weeks ago a less-active member (for more than a decade) called his sister-in-law at 2am Saturday night and said, “Pick me up for Church in the morning.”  Then he reported he wanted a calling.  So he accepted a call as an Elder’s Quorum Counselor and had an interview for his Patriarchal Blessing!  How so you might wonder?  The new First Co...

March 18, 2018 Shorter picture version at the bottom. This week —We’ve been noticed; there’s no other way to put it.  We got many a look at the typically French markets with our business attire and black name tags moving through throngs of shoppers and vendors.  Poussard being a VERY French name and our American look but the Church name on our name tags in French puzzled quite a few.  They expect English and out pours our broken French.  And they seem delighted.  It’s quite the conversation piece and conversation starter.  We even got a serenade with Elder Poussard carrying a few swigs of fragrant Magnolia branches through the French Market.  Apparently there is a French song about magnolias and as we passed by, the vendor sang it…..for all the world to hear.  She was quite uninhibited; and well, we’ve been noticed.  Then Friday, we spent the day moving the Elders across town with our litt...

March 11, 2018 Pics and video after text. This week :  We are now getting into a nice rhythm working with "our" Elders.  It's amazing to watch such young men (18-22yrs) take the lead in organizing their days and selflessly looking for opportunities to be of service to others.  We have now been out with "our" Elders several times on teaching appointments and have watched them deliver spiritually up-lifting and individualized messages for each of the families and individuals we have visited.  These are the very moments we have been waiting for:  visiting family households and watching their lives change ever so slightly as they learn how to align their daily lives with that of JesusChrist.  And then?  We learn from them!
